(17/07/2017) What does it take to podium at a UCI omnium? In numbers.
We train, a lot. But what does it take to podium in a UCI omnium? We’re taking a look at team riders Felix English’s data from the recent UCI GP Favorit in Brno, Czech Republic to give a little bit more of an idea. To give it a little bit of context, Felix is one of the smaller riders in the field at 66kg and was riding 54×15 for the duration of the event.
*Team riders Felix English and Fintan Ryan are now privately coaching a select group of riders. Cyclists of all abilities and disciplines – to enquire please contact IrishTrackTeamProject@gmail.com*

(15/07/2017) Felix takes another UCI podium
Team rider Felix English travelled back to Brno, Czech Republic to finish off his summer of UCI racing. A solo trip, with team mate Fintan Ryan making the trip over to Barcelona for a different GP at the weekend. The omnium saw the biggest field of the summer with 42 riders from 14 different nations taking to the start line. After a slow start in the scratch, Felix progressed through the event winning the tempo race, taking 2nd in the elimination race and successfully definitely a podium spot in the points race. Finishing yet again on the podium has now secured Felix a ride as 1st reserve for the UCI Track World Cup Omnium events. With the hope of riding at least 2 UCI World Cups in the discipline, this should put him in good stead to qualify for the UCI Track World Championships in Apeldoorn, Holland in February.
(19/07/2017) Felix and Marc Potts take Ireland’s first ever pro six day podium
Team rider Felix English and fellow Irish international Marc Potts have finished 2nd overall at the Giorni de Torino six day in Italy. After a consistent week – which included a win in the madison chase – the pair defended their 2nd place overall in the final night of racing. The result takes extra merit with the reigning Olympic champion Elia Viviani winning the event but being pushed close throughout the week by the Irish pairing.
The team only started riding madison 18 months ago but the progression has been clear to see. Now with; UCI World Cup medals, 6th in the UCI Track World Championships and finally a professional six day podium. Things are looking bright for the team in the newly announced Olympic discipline.
